Through a series of evaluations, one-on-one discussions, formalized feedback instruments, coaching sessions and action plans, the unique platform allows David Weekley Homes to analyze supplier performance across all industries. The National Trading Partner Survey measures access, communication, timeliness, reliability, follow-through, confidence levels and other areas important to the business relationship. The quarterly survey is a detailed review of David Weekley Homes’ supplier performance as assessed by approximately 800 Team Members from all levels within the company, and provides our trading partners an opportunity to review and improve their channel alignment and performance.

“Pursuit of world-class excellence is a journey that requires constant assessment and course correction,” said Bill Justus vice president of Supply Chain Services for David Weekley Homes. “As we continue to grow we will rely on companies such as our award winners that are serious about excellence to help us deliver outstanding experiences to all our Homebuyers.”

Tim Mahaffey, vice president, South Division for L&W Supply said his company uses the survey results to measure their performance, and commitment, to David Weekley Homes.

“David Weekley Homes is looking for partners who are committed to their business for the long run,” he said. “The supplier evaluation platform and winning The Partners of Choice award is the ultimate litmus test for us. It has pushed us to improve our processes and increase our communication at multiple levels between our two companies. There is no doubt that our commitment to the program has made us a better distribution company that is focused on the needs of our customers.”

Like L&W Supply, Stacy Thompson, the global accounts manager for Office Depot, values the survey results and uses them to improve communications throughout her company.

“When you manage large company accounts, you want to know what your customers think about your service,” she said. “The survey results allow me to address any training that needs to be done on any of the programs, and to connect with people I wouldn’t normally get to connect with, like builders. Knowing that everyone I interact with could be on the next quarter’s survey makes me even more accountable.”

DuPont’s national account manager, Susan Kenney, relishes the personal attention given to each survey and uses the results to improve processes directly related with David Weekley Homes.

“The personal attention and the insights gained from its rigorous evaluation platform are critical to making both David Weekley Homes and DuPont better companies,” she said. “To my knowledge, there aren’t any other builders with such an elaborate process. It provides 360-degree feedback and helps us to know our strengths and our weaknesses, and what we need to do to turn those weaknesses into strengths.”
