DAVID WEEKLEY HOMES BUILDS ROOMS FOR THE RUSSELL HOME FOR ATYPICAL CHILDREN

Orlando, FL (July 19, 2016): David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately-held builder, recently joined together with local homeowners, vendors and real estate agents to build a new kitchen and dining room to benefit residents of The Russell Home for Atypical Children, a nonprofit facility that caters to severely-disabled children in Central Florida.

With a turnout of nearly 60 Weekley team members and their families, homeowners and vendors, real estate professionals and developers provided tens of thousands of in donations and nearly 200 hours of volunteer time to build and stock the new kitchen and dining room.

“We are so thankful for the team working with our home for their volunteer project,” said Vantrease Blair, executive director for the Russell Home for Atypical Children. “Your team has gone above and beyond to help with the services that we provide to families in our area. We feel incredibly blessed to have this opportunity, but especially blessed at the ‘uncommon’ kindness shown by your employees and vendors.”

The project was an initiative of the company’s CARE program, which is a charitable and volunteer program that partners team members with homeowners, homebuyers and community partners with nonprofits to make a positive impact in the lives of everyone it touches and in all the communities it builds through its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives. This is accomplished by company team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities and by The David Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $100 million to a variety of organizations through the U.S. and abroad over the past 20 years.

“Three generations of The Russell Home family have dedicated their lives to loving and caring for the children at their home,” said Valerie Wagoner, CARE council member for David Weekley Homes in Orlando. “To watch our community come together to enhance the lives of the staff and residents of The Russell Home was awe-inspiring. I am truly humbled by the generosity of our business partners, homeowners and team members.”

The list of vendors that participated in The Russell Home for Atypical Children project include FBC Mortgage Charitable Foundation, Bailey Industries, Just Floors Inc., United Stone Associates, Inc., H’ss Trim, Inc., Spegal Plumbing, LLC and Moen.
