David Weekley Homes Celebrates More Than 40 Years by Giving Back
Home builder donates $45,000 to local charities
Charlotte, NC (May 16, 2017): The nation’s largest privately-held home builder celebrated more than 40 years of Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives by hosting David Weekley Homes World’s Largest Showcase of Homes. From April 1-30, more than 9,100 visitors stopped by model or showcase homes across the country to see current innovations in design and décor trends.
As part of the company’s charitable and philanthropic efforts, a $5 donation was given to a local nonprofit organization for each visitor who registered with a sales consultant during David Weekley Homes World’s Largest Showcase of Homes, amounting to more than $45,000 for 18 local charities. In Charlotte, more than $2,100 was donated to Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte.
“We are honored that David Weekley Homes decided to once again support our families through their Showcase of Homes,” said Emily Ransone, annual support manager with Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte. “The support they give to not only the Charlotte House, but to Ronald McDonald Houses across the country, is vital to the children and families we serve and we feel lucky that we can witness their impact firsthand.”
The monetary gifts are an initiative of the company’s CARE program that joins team members with homeowners, homebuyers, community partners and local nonprofit organizations to live out its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives in all the communities in which it builds. This is accomplished by team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities and by The David Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $100 million to a variety of organizations throughout the U.S. and abroad over the past 20 years.
“Our team was so impressed and honored to help out at our local chapter of the Ronald McDonald House,” said Claudine Imler, design center manager with David Weekley Homes. “It was humbling to see how much they do and what the assistance from the local community does to help people going through such a difficult time.”
