DAVID WEEKLEY HOMES LENDS A HELPING HAND TO SPRUCE UP GROUP HOME FOR HANDICAPPED ADULTS

Hilton Head, SC (May 27, 2015): Every team member from the Hilton Head division of David Weekley Homes grabbed a roller or paint brush to help repaint the interior of a group home that provides assistance for medical fragile and mentally and physically handicapped adults through the Beaufort County Department of Disabilities and Special Needs.

All 13 David Weekley Homes’ team members worked side-by-side with the facilities employees as well as some of the group home’s higher-functioning adults to tackle the springtime project.

“It was a very rewarding experience for our team,” said Nancy Cantor, a sales consultant in Hilton Head. “Our team enjoyed working with the group home’s residents and their staff to help improve the facility. The executive director for the Disabilities and Special Needs services even stopped by to thank us as well!”

The county facility aims to provide a variety of residential options to meet the needs of those with disabilities and special needs in Beaufort County. Each of the county’s group homes are staffed 24 hours a day and provide wide-ranging care, including training, promotion of independence and everyday skills needed for living.

As part of its culture, David Weekley Homes strives to make a positive impact in the lives of everyone it touches and in all the communities it builds through its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives. This is accomplished by company team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities, and by the Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $100 million to a variety of organizations through the U.S. and abroad since 1976.
