David Weekley Homes Partners with Building Homes for Heroes

Dallas, TX (October 4, 2016): David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately-held builder, is proud to announce its partnership with the national nonprofit organization, Building Homes for Heroes, to provide a mortgage-free, custom home to a local veteran.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the customized, handicapped-accessible home will be held Thursday, October 6 in the Hillwood Community of Harvest in Argyle, Texas. Argyle Mayor, Peggy Krueger will be in attendance to assist David Weekley Homes, Building Homes for Heroes and Hillwood Communities break ground on the home.

Building Homes for Heroes selected the Purple Heart recipient and former Special Forces veteran, Sergeant First Class Randy Nantz, due to his previous service in the United States Army and financial need. Nantz was compelled to enlist following the September 11 terrorist attacks and was deployed three times with his last deployment cut short due to an attack that left him with third degree burns covering his body and required amputation of left leg.

“It’s an honor to assist a local veteran and recognize the sacrifices that he has made, in some small part,” said Dustin Nelson, David Weekley Homes Division President. “We wish him and his family all the best in their new home.”

The custom home will be located in Harvest, where homeowners have access to nearby greenbelts, pocket parks and hike and bike trails. This mixed-use development has strong roots in urban agrarianism and features neighborhood pools, an 11-acre lake and future plans for on-site schools.
