DAVID WEEKLEY HOMES PRESENTS DONATION TO COMMUNITIES IN SCHOOLS

CHARLESTON, SC (April 2, 2015) – David Weekley Homes announces a $2,500 contribution to Communities in Schools of the Charleston Area, Inc. (CIS). The nation’s largest private home builder presented CIS with a check after partnering with the non-profit organization for the Trident United Way Day of Caring last fall.

The United Way Day of Caring provides an opportunity for corporate volunteers to partner with non-profit agencies and schools for a day of community service. During the 15th annual event, David Weekley team members and CIS volunteers visited Lambs Elementary School in North Charleston to organize the campus store, build three “buddy benches” for students and work in the school’s vegetable garden.

CIS provides a nationally acclaimed dropout prevention program that surrounds students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. The organization partners with Charleston and Berkeley County School Districts to serve more than 13,200 students in 28 schools.
