David Weekley Homes Raises Some Sweet Funds to Help End Childhood Hunger

Jacksonville, FL (October 26, 2016): David Weekley Team Members in Jacksonville provided more than 4,600 meals to children struggling with hunger. By hosting a recent bake sale, the nation’s largest privately-held home builder raised money and awareness for No Kid Hungry, a national campaign that connects kids in need with nutritious food in an effort to end child hunger.

Team Members raised nearly $500 by selling cookies and sweet treats at the David Weekley Homes Design Center in Ponte Vedra, which provided 10 healthy meals for each dollar raised.

“It’s always great to see our team join together for an amazing cause. We had team members, family and homeowners baking for a cause and helped us create the opportunity for over 4,000 meals for children in need,” said Katie Hensley, David Weekley Homes Marketing Coordinator for Jacksonville and Panama City.

The No Kid Hungry campaign not only feeds children, it tackles the hunger issue at home by teaching families how to cook healthy, affordable meals. The public makes an impact through the No Kid Hungry network which consists of private citizens, government officials, business leaders like David Weekley Homes and others to provide solutions to end hunger in their communities.
