David Weekley Homes Team Members Build Ramps for Texas Ramp Project

Austin, TX (June 19, 2019): David Weekley Homes recently partnered with 19 local nonprofit organizations across the country through the company’s CARE Build Month projects.

In Austin, the project benefitted Texas Ramp Project, an organization that has built more than 16,000 wheelchair ramps since 2006 for elderly and disabled clients. Approximately 37 Weekley team members from the company’s Austin division volunteered more than 300 hours to build ramps for families with medical needs who lack the financial resources.

“David Weekley Homes has been such a great partner these past few years and always comes prepared to work hard,” said Jay Jennings, a lead with Texas Ramp Project.

This project benefitted three families by providing a ramp for clients, which will help them be able to leave their homes without assistance. The project included donations of more than $2,550 in materials and tools.

“The Texas Ramp Project leads continually say they have never worked with a team as hard-working or energetic as the David Weekley Homes team,” said Jillian Crane, project coordinator with David Weekley Homes. “I’m always so proud to work alongside such a great group of people!”

The project was an initiative of the company’s CARE program, which is a charitable and volunteer program that partners team members, homeowners, homebuyers and community partners with nonprofits to make a positive impact in the lives of everyone it touches and in all the communities it builds through its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives. This is accomplished by company team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities and by The David Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $200 million to a variety of organizations through the U.S. and abroad over the past 20 years.
