David Weekley Homes Team Members Complete Renovations for Ralston Homes

Denver, CO (June 14, 2018): David Weekley Homes recently partnered with 18 local nonprofit organizations across the country through the company’s CARE Build Month projects.

In Denver, the project benefitted Ralston House Child Advocacy Center, a local nonprofit agency that provides more than 1,000 children and teen survivors of abuse per year with a safe place to begin healing. Approximately 30 Weekley team members, as well as homeowners, vendors and business partners, joined together to complete interior and exterior renovations at Ralston House, including adding a privacy fence and landscaping, refinishing hardwood floors and installing new appliances and carpet.

“Our Lakewood site needed a lot of TLC, and the David Weekley Homes team definitely delivered,” said Misty Horton, victim advocate for Ralston House. “From laying carpet and building custom media shelves to running cables and lighting to our offices and replacing faucet handles, their updates, enhancements and fixes make such a profound impact on the environment that we welcome the children and their families into. The David Weekley Homes team’s commitment, compassion and love can be felt throughout the house in their work and efforts.”

This project benefitted the 1,500 children and their family members who are served by Ralston House annually. The project included a donation of $1,000 in materials for the renovations, as well as 50 volunteer hours from David Weekley Homes team members.

“It’s extremely humbling that we are able to help an organization like the Ralston House that serves so many children and families,” said Xander Lambert, builder for David Weekley Homes in Denver. “This organization gives more than I could ever imagine and asks for nothing in return. Working on this Build Month project was our opportunity to help them in a way that we know best.”

The project was an initiative of the company’s CARE program, which is a charitable and volunteer program that partners team members, homeowners, homebuyers and community partners with nonprofits to make a positive impact in the lives of everyone it touches and in all the communities it builds through its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives. This is accomplished by company team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities and by The David Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $100 million to a variety of organizations through the U.S. and abroad over the past 20 years.
