David Weekley Homes Team Members Go to School for United Way's Day of Caring

Charleston, SC (November 29, 2016): Nearly 25 team members from David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately-held builder, volunteered their time to make improvements to Lamb Elementary School as a part of Trident United Way’s Day of Caring. In addition to planting flowers, laying pine straw and trimming shrubs,team members worked with second and third grade students painting tiles for holiday gifts.

“I really love doing projects where we can interact with the kids,” said John Absher, a David Weekley Homes builder in Charleston.

This is the third year David Weekley team members have volunteered in the Trident United Way’s Day of Caring at Lambs Elementary. As a designated Title 1 school, Lambs Elementary receives financial assistance for a high number of children from low-income families.

The Trident United Way works in collaboration with community partners to make long-lasting positive changes in the areas of people’s lives by offering educational initiatives, financial guidance and access to healthcare to residents in the tri-county area of Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties.
