David Weekley Homes Teams Up With Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley

Chicago, IL (June 29, 2016): David Weekley Homes recently partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley to help with construction on two homes for the nonprofit housing ministry that was founded on the conviction that every man, woman, and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety.

Approximately 20 Weekley team members worked two different days, a total of 16 hours, helping to set trusses and raising the walls on two different homes. Hines Building Supply supported this project by providing lunch for the volunteers on one day of the project.

“I loved the enthusiasm of the David Weekley team and was thrilled we were able to set trusses on both the garage and the home in one day,” said Bill Klaves, development director with Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley.

“I really enjoyed spending the day doing construction to benefit a young family,” said David Sawyer, a builder with David Weekley Homes. “I am proud to be part of a company that truly lives by its motto of Building Dreams and Enhancing Lives.”

The project was an  initiative of the company’s CARE program, which is a charitable and volunteer program that partners team members with homeowners, homebuyers and community partners with nonprofits to make a positive impact in the lives of everyone it touches and in all the communities it builds through its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives. This is accomplished by company team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities and by The David Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $100 million to a variety of organizations through the U.S. and abroad over the past 20 years.
