Austin, TX (July 11, 2016): David Weekley Homes hosted a build project benefiting Mobile Loaves & Fishes: Community First! Village, an organization that provides affordable, permanent housing and supportive community for the disabled, chronically homeless in Central Texas. More than 50 Weekley team members joined together with trade partners to build two micro homes for the organization. The project involved about $25,000 in materials and labor, along with more than 100 volunteer hours to build these new homes.

“We are grateful and honored by the support and service that the David Weekley Homes team has provided to Mobile Loaves & Fishes and our Community First! Village,” said Alan Graham, founder and CEO of Mobile Loaves & Fishes.“Because of their generosity and assistance with building micro homes at Community First, we've been able to continue lifting our homeless neighbors up off the streets of Austin, Texas, and move them into an awesome place to call home.”

Vendor and trade partners that donated time, money and materials to work with the Weekley Team Members include BMC West, Parrish & Company, Summit Stoneworks, Velocity Roofing, In Charge Electric and Extreme Painting.

“I loved volunteering at the Community First Village. Being able to see and help first hand was amazing,” said Melanie Music-Hollaway, Project Coordinator with David Weekley Homes. “They are doing wonderful things for people and their community!”

The project was an initiative of the company’s CARE program, which is a charitable and volunteer program that partners team members with homeowners, homebuyers and community partners with nonprofits to make a positive impact in the lives of everyone it touches and in all the communities it builds through its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives. This is accomplished by company team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities and by The David Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $100 million to a variety of organizations through the U.S. and abroad over the past 20 years.
