DAVID WEEKLEY HOMES TRIPLES GOAL TO RAISE $15,000 FOR JUVENILE ARTHRITIS AT JINGLE BELL RUN
Tampa, FL (January 21, 2015): Nicknaming themselves the Weekley Warriors, nearly 100 David Weekley Homes team members banded together for the Tampa Jingle Bell Run/Walk to raise more than $15,000 to benefit Arthritis Foundation while increasing awareness for juvenile arthritis.
David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately-held home builder, was also a corporate sponsor for this year’s walk and run, which featured sales consultant Steven Harrity’s daughter as the honoree.
“My daughter, Morgan, was the child honoree this year,” Harrity said. “I was hoping for 50 people to join and walk with and for Morgan. The 91 team members and their families that showed up, including some of our trade partners, our chaplain and his family, were amazing!
“I believe 91 participants is the highest ever in the state, and in the top five for the country, for a corporate sponsor,” Harrity said.
The $15,000 raised will help send nearly 180 children with juvenile arthritis to a summer camp with no cost to their family. The money will also cover the cost for more than 60 families to attend family retreat weekends through Arthritis Foundation, and send another 20 families to the 2015 Juvenile Arthritis Conference.
As part of its culture, David Weekley Homes strives to make a positive impact in the lives of everyone it touches and in all the communities it builds through its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives. This is accomplished by company team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities and by the Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $100 million to a variety of organizations through the U.S. and abroad since 1976.
