DAVID WEEKLEY TEAM MEMBERS RACE TO SUPPORT ABUNDANCE FOUNDATION
RALEIGH, NC (May 5, 2015): The 7th Annual Briar Chapel Earth Day 5K received abundant support from David Weekley Homes team members and homeowners. The group participated in the race to support the Abundance Foundation, an organization that works to increase public awareness of sustainable energy usage and local food consumption.
The Earth Day 5K began at Great Meadow Park in Briar Chapel, the Triangle’s largest green home community, and continued along neighborhood streets and parks throughout the community. David Weekley Homes also sponsored the Earth Day 5K, which included a kids’ dash for children of team members and homeowners.
Abundance spreads awareness about the importance of building sustainable, resilient communities, making it easier for people to shop locally and live more sustainably. Abundance also supports local innovators in sustainability, and brings people together to share ideas for building better communities.
