Falls At Imperial Oaks Wins "Houston's Best Community" Award From Greater Houston Builders Association

The Falls at Imperial Oaks, a 686-acre community located near I-45 North and Rayford Rd., has won a 2011 “Houston’s Best Community” award from the Greater Houston Builders Association.

The award recognizes Houston’s best residential community that best meets criteria including master plan, amenities, landscaping, product variety, and success in the marketplace as determined by sales and homebuyer traffic over the previous year.

The award was presented to developer Holcomb Properties at the GHBA’s annual “Houston’s Best” gala, held in late September at the Intercontinental Houston Hotel. A panel of independent judges from outside of the homebuilding and development industry selected the winners in a large number of categories.

Judges cited Holcomb Properties’ commitment to creating long-term value in The Falls at Imperial Oaks by completing amenities such as The Lake Club, which won a 2010 “Houston’s Best” award for best recreation center. Other highlights of the winning entry included an emphasis on tree preservation and native landscaping at the wooded site, along with a strong focus on resident involvement. Judges also noted the community’s commitment to environmentally friendly homes, including homes that now include solar panels.

“We are very grateful to the Houston’s Best judges for recognizing the many attributes that make The Falls at Imperial Oaks ‘Houston’s Best’ community,” said Jim Holcomb, president of Holcomb Properties. “We are thrilled to receive this award, which comes near the end of a very successful year that includes our major expansion, and the announcement of ExxonMobil’s new campus only minutes away from us.”

Announced earlier this year and now nearly complete, the expansion of The Falls at Imperial Oaks added more than 200 new homesites in several neighborhoods, including the community’s first gated section. A new park and an extension of the community’s greenbelt trail system was also part of the expansion.

The Falls at imperial Oaks got another major boost earlier this when ExxonMobil confirmed plans to build its new corporate campus at I-45 North and Hardy Toll Road, just 3.5 miles from the community. The 385-acre campus will house as many as 12,000 ExxonMobil employees beginning in 2014.

New-home sales at The Falls at Imperial Oaks have increased 10% in the first nine months of 2011, compared to the same period last year. Holcomb said the new homesites and decorated model homesopened as part of the expansion helped boost sales, along with greater interest in the area following ExxonMobil’s announcement.

Located in the Conroe Independent School District, The Falls at Imperial Oaks offers new homes priced from the $160,000s to $300,000s by David Weekley Homes and Lennar Homes. For more information, visit www.fallsatimperialoaks.com.
