STUDENTS BENEFIT FROM DAVID WEEKLEY HOMES BACK TO SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE

Atlanta, GA (September 17, 2015): David Weekley Homes hosted a Back to School Supply Drive benefiting Smyrna Elementary School, which is located in the Cobb County School District.

“We are so thankful for the donations from David Weekley Homes," said Beth Parker, a counselor at Smyrna Elementary School. "The donations were used to provide supplies to students based on their grade level needs.”

Approximately $635 in school supplies, along with a donation of $500 from the David Weekley Family Foundation, were collected during the two-week drive that benefited approximately 1,000 children. After collecting the donations, Team Members spent 15 hours sorting the supplies and delivering them to the organization to ensure the supplies would be distributed in time for the students to begin school with the tools needed to be successful.

“After presenting the school supplies and check to Principal Brett Ward, I left the school feeling a sense of pride because our company really impacted and changed lives in our community,” said Tim Bearden, a sales consultant with David Weekley Homes.

The drive was an initiative of the company’s CARE program, which is a charitable and volunteer program that partners Team Members with homeowners, homebuyers and community partners with nonprofits to make a positive impact in the lives of everyone it touches and in all the communities it builds through its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives. This is accomplished by company team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities and by the David Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $100 million to a variety of organizations through the U.S. and abroad over the past 20 years.
