Students Benefit from David Weekley Homes Back to School Supply Drive

Atlanta, GA (September 14, 2016): David Weekley Homes hosted its second companywide Back to School Supply Drive in 22 cities across the country. In Atlanta, school supplies were collected for The United Way of Forsyth County, an organization that works to strengthen our community by identifying and addressing the most pressing needs in the community.

“Thank you so much for participating in our Stuff the Bus drive to provide school supplies this year!” Melissa Corliss, director of community impact for The United Way of Forsyth County.

Items collected during the two-week drive benefitted students of the Forsyth County Schools. After collecting the donations, team members sorted the supplies and delivered them to the organization to ensure the supplies would be distributed in time for the students to begin school with the tools needed to be successful.

“You never know who will be the next great inventor, surgeon, world leader or philanthropist, said Beth Stitt, lead estimator and CARE Council Member with David Weekley Homes. “What a blessing to be able to help a child better their education.”

The drive was an initiative of the company’s CARE program, which is a charitable and volunteer program that partners team members with homeowners, homebuyers and community partners with nonprofits to make a positive impact in the lives of everyone it touches and in all the communities it builds through its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives. This is accomplished by company team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities and by the Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $100 million to a variety of organizations through the U.S. and abroad over the past 20 years.
