STUDENTS BENEFIT FROM DAVID WEEKLEY HOMES BACK TO SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE

DALLAS, TX (September 17, 2015): David Weekley Homes hosted a Back to School Supply Drive benefiting Community Partners of Dallas, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring safety and restoring dignity and hope to abused and neglected children by providing resources and support to the caseworkers of Dallas County Child Protective Services.

"David Weekley has made a huge impact on our organization and the children we serve,” said Joanna Clarke, Vice President of Development and Communications for Community Partners of Dallas. “We're able to help send more than 2,600 kids back to school equipped with all the tools they need to succeed.”

Approximately 4,000 items valued at $9,000 were collected during the two-week drive. After collecting the donations, team members spent 100 hours sorting the supplies and delivering them to the organization to ensure the supplies would be distributed in time for the students to begin school with the tools needed to be successful.

"It was an easy way for us to get involved and help our community youth have a great start to their school year,” said Jessica Dennis, a David Weekley sales consultant. “Any time we can provide supplies, food or clothing for those that are less fortunate than ourselves, we will do everything we can to help.”

The drive was an initiative of the company’s CARE program, which is a charitable and volunteer program that partners team members with homeowners, homebuyers and community partners with nonprofits to make a positive impact in the lives of everyone it touches and in all the communities it builds through its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives. This is accomplished by company team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities and by the Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $100 million to a variety of organizations through the U.S. and abroad over the past 20 years.
